We are constantly making improvements and updates to the CamRanger software and wanted to highlight some recent changes to the iOS app. As of the this posting, the latest app version is 2.1.9.
Printing to select DNP printers is now available within the CamRanger app using DNP's new wireless print server: WPS-1. Check out our other blog entry for more information: CamRanger and DNP
Based on customer feedback we made an easier method for doing automatic panoramas with the CamRanger when equipped with the PT Hub and MP-360 motorized tripod head. In summary, the app allows the user to perform a basic calibration and then only require the user to enter the number of shots and the total numbers of degrees to rotate. To perform a calibration follow these steps:
NOTE: Any change to the tripod head speed will result in the calibration being invalidated.
To perform a panorama, enter the number of shots to be taken and the total degrees of rotation for the entire panorama. The “Direction” toggle specifies the direction the tripod head should turn. Upon pressing the start button the CamRanger will begin the panorama from the tripod head’s current location.
It is important to remember that the MP-360 tripod head is an inexpensive option with inexpensive motors. Even with the calibration process, there still will be inaccuracies of probably at least a few degrees.
