CamRanger 2 Battery

Cam Ranger 2 is 100% essential for architecture photography. I use it on every shoot. The ability to remotely set up an Ipad, frame up a shot, make changes and control everything from the screen is the lifeline of my entire shoot. I can walk around with the Ipad in my hand and tweak lighting, show my client important details and discuss how to make the shot better.
PLUSES:
1-It WORKS!! I've tried other IOS apps and they suck. Period. The Cam Ranger 2 works and never let's me down. It doesn't turn off mysteriously, and the battery life is very solid. 2 batts will run it all day! 2- The WIFI connection is solid to the camera. 3- It boots up fairly quickly. 4- the small jpg internal photos are great to quickly scrub through indpendent of camera.
MINUSES: 1- The battery is in a place that is very hard to get to. Would be nice in future models if that was in a place where I didn't have to take the entire unit off to get to it. 2- The body of the unit is thin plastic. If I drop that thing, it's gonna break. Would be great, and I would be willing to pay a little more, if it was made out of something more rugged.

Crucial part of my setup. Shooting multiple exposures without moving the camera, showing the client a large live view of shot and being able to know that I nailed the focus. Very reliable device. If it's not working, it's not plugged in!

I’ve been a CamRanger user from the beginning. CamRanger 2 is the reason Tether Tools stopped selling wireless tethering. CR2 is that good. The connecting process is simple, and raw files from my Canon R5 transfer quickly for previewing and sharing. I like the included editing tools for creating quick images to send for approvals to clients. What I especially like is how quickly orders get shipped from CamRanger to my location in Ogden, Utah.
